My name is Mikaela Swan or Miktangle, and I am an artist from Brisbane, Australia. I use inspiration from philosophical teachings, zentangles and nature to create intricate and dreamlike creatures within twisted spaces to invite viewers to explore and appreciate the intelligence of mysterious inner worlds. Every expression I have made is the subsequent entrance to my soul. My way of thinking is to create art that brings the viewer into my artistic world and has them embody and understand their emotions and discover themselves but to improve and prove a symbiotic relationship between humans and the natural world. The goal of an artist is to instil in modern society that through various forms of art, the audience can find themselves as human and translate their expressions for later generations to idolise.

I show interest in the transformations and anomalies of nature, creating beings and spaces, each unique and strange looking from the other. I work in various mediums such as acrylic, mixed media, watercolour, graphite, pen & ink.
