My Story

My name is Mikaela Swan and I am a drummer in the Australian music scene, professionally active since 2020. I have been drumming for nearly ten years and have accumulated over 153,000 followers on Instagram and 143,000 fans on Tiktok.

Growing up, I was inspired to drum by my father, who played slipknot very often when I was a child. One Christmas, my parents gifted me a plastic drum kit, which made me develop a strong passion for drumming. After discovering Dave Grohl, the founder of Foo Fighters, playing the drums for Nirvana, I was forever obsessed with the idea of playing the drum kit.

Since then, I have become a professional drummer in my own right. I currently drum for two amazing bands, Dizzy Days & Happy Valley. I have performed with many established artists in various stages of success, such as Sorah Snow, Lucy Francesca Dron, Nicole Mckinney, Big Blue Eyes, Oskar Campbell, Staples, Lounge, The Dandys, Jerome Williams, and so on. I have made notable appearances performing at Spring in the Vale, Spaced out festival with Australian rock band Wolfmother, Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Burleigh Ball Festival, Teneriffe Festival, Springtime, etc. In addition, I have participated in Taylor Moss's music video, which has since garnered over 2 million views and participated in Instagram's top creators reel event. I am forever thankful for everyone that has made my dream feasible and for the opportunities I have been given.

As a gigging musician with a passion for drumming, this has influenced my love for teaching. I am best known for my heavy and hard hitting nature, with the ability to adapt to any stylist genre. I specialise in a wide range of drumming genres including Pop, Rock, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Funk, and Disco. My favourite artists of inspiration include: Foo Fighters, Nothing But Thieves, Slipknot, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Jamiroquai, Dynamo, Harry Styles, Palaye Royale, Queens Of The Stone Age, 1975, and Tool.
